I'm trying to install a C2D on a P5B Deluxe and every time I try to push the fan pins in, they pop out. For instance, I push in the top left one and the bottom right pin pops out. The fan is kind've rocking, and I don't see anything in between that's inhibiting it from laying flat.

make sure the "black" thing is in lock position before push it in.

I did, I've mounted this CPU before on multiple occasions, this one just was being difficult. I got it in, though. Took a little bit of fiddling.

pervert!! I admit I love my little processor as much as the next guy but, i never once thought about mounting it. I mean I think it's cute and all but come on get real........
Oh you might try releasing the lock lever for the cpu. just think of it as a chastity belt for the motherboard. If you want to jam your CPUnit into it, try a little sweet talk here, you know tell it what it wants to hear!!. It must be unlocked first. Then remember the little tabs on the processor must be lined up with the recptacles on the Motherboard. Then slowly just stick it in. Pull down the little lever so it can't wiggle out. Geez I need a cigarette after that. But wait hey I don't even smoke!! Oh I think my processor just winked at me... Yeah baby who's your daddy?!!

My first time mounting a stock HSF i was like WTF? There's no way i need to push down this hard. After you get a couple under your belt yes it can be mounted in seconds. Especially after a few mounts of a Scythe Infinity where you don't have the luxury of pushing straight down on the pins the stock is a breeze.

Perhaps I do need a little help you got a sister? LOL...
I have been building computers since 1979. I have only heard of one other person who could not figure out how to install a processor with pictures to help in the booklet if had he just looked. This is all too common. I kid you not I was called the other night by some people in a panic cuz there computer seemed to start but all was dead. They pleaded with me to let them drop it off even though it was getting late. I let them, the computer was an HP running a 733 celeron with 64megs and windows ME I hooked it up here and all was just fine. I tested it the next day and had my 11 year old son test while I was at work we returned the computer and plugged their monitor back in and everything worked. The guy paid me a $100 bill to plug in his monitor!
So buddy you are not alone!! Yes I get a little sarcastic with people but only cuz they continually amaze me.
