Need to Upgrade?

I am buying an eVGA 8800 Ultra this week and while I was on Newegg, I saw that a 500W PSU was a minimum requirement. It also says: Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 34 Amps.I have a PC Power & Cooling 510W SLI Deluxe in there now. I have two power connectors since the PSU is SLI certified, which is good, but will I run into trouble being only 10W about the minimum? Would it be wise to buy the 610W Silencer or even the 750W Quad?

I used a PSU calculator online and I will be using 548W with my new system. There is a great deal for the 610W Silencer on PCP&C's website for $120 plus shipping, cheapest price around. Should I get that or go for the 750W Silencer? Help please.

Don't worry so much about the total wattage. Its the amperage on the +12v rails that is the key. As long as your PSU can offer about 34A or better on the +12v rail(s) you will be fine. You could even get away with only 32A.
