I am about to buy an eVGA 8800 Ultra this week and I have a question. I put one in my friends computer while building it for him, and these monsters are huge. Could someone please give me the length in inches of the card? I need to make sure it will fit in my case.

i think that its about 12.5 or 13 inches

standard ATX mobo is 12" 'down' by 9.6" across - they r a lil bigger than that, my guess 10" - definitely not 12.5 - 13, that would mean that if u buy 88u, u would *have* to buy a case that fits E-ATX (12"x13") mobo - & i've *quite* sure thats not the case (no pun intended :D )

i installed of the 8800gtx it went all the way back the end of the case up to the hard drive bay, full atx case
and the ati 1950 pro i have in the other room is 10.5 inches i think and the 8800gtx was longer
edit i was wrong it just looked bigger it is 10.5 inches

Is there anyway that you can get me an exact measurement?

*if* (bet u it is) the 88u is same size as 88GTX then look @ this:
mobo is standard 12"x9.6" (card is a 88gtx), so there u go OP, thats how far the card will stick over the mobo

if u want exact the pdf i linked says 266.6mm so extrapolate the exact size from that

thats awsome, im glad that the card makers started putting the slots on the top instead of the back
what is that 3-5mm between the case and the card
I think it's not worth the money when the g92 is coming out in a matter of months and the r670 will be out at the same time too

the g92 is slower than the g80, its just a true midranged card with a really small die and a real memory controller and no more weird memory sizes for it
Recently the inquirer stated it's a high end card again though, I'm so confused because nvidia themselves claimed twice as much processing power as the 8800gtx, then you hear the 8800gts replacement, and then you hear high end again. Arghhhhhh

they might put both out or they might have run into production problems like ati did, or they may be delaying the high end so that they can shorten the g80 supply so that they can jack the price up when the g92 that high end comes out

Just about. I had to tilt the card to get it in. (Won't just go in flat) and I had to take out my floppy drive cable and its covering 2 of my 4 SATA ports on my SLI-DR Expert so I only have my OS hd and my 500GB hooked up. I only have Halo installed on my OS drive.
The card is registered and I have 85 days to use eVGA's Step-Up program, so I hope that the 9 series comes out by then so I dont have to sell it or worry about resale value.

Is this 9 series going to be like the 7900 series was to the 7800 series? Will they be called 8900's? I hear its not going to be a new chip entirely, just an "expansion" of the 8 series.

I am about to change my 8800 GTS to an Ultra model, since mines has got some issues with crashes/temperatures...
So is it really worthy? I can do 24/7 11700 at 3d mark 06, with my Quad, so i bet i would be doing about 15/16 k with ultra?
I saw that there are 2 energy connectors on this card? LOL

I really couldn't tell you, since I used my card for only 100 hrs then shipped it off. Its coming tomorrow and I cant wait to leak test it and get the beast up and running. There are two power connectors on the card, but my new PC Power & Cooling 610W Silencer has two on it since it is SLI certified. I'll let you know how much better it does than my X2 3800+/7800 gtx ko.

Not sure why you would upgrade a 8800gts to an ultra thats a waste of money.
