hey all,
using a big typhoon on a q6600 go +p5k deluxe setup.
did the vmods on the boards to get the voltages in order.
having to deal with high temps atm.
at 3.6 ghz at 1.525v, I am getting coretemp temps of 100*c on core 0/1 and 95 *C on cores 2/3
was higher prior to heatsink lapping. could not get it above 3.4ghz before.
I was wondering if adding a higher rpm 120mm fan (3000rpm+) to the big typhoon would help lower the temps?
I am using a lanli case w/ several exaust fans.

hmm, ok
Put a high-rpm 120 x 38mm fan on that thing. It's got very high fin density / close fins, and can use higher pressure. Scan my old threads for mods that will help you out.

you can throw 1000cfm at that, its not gona help, its just the limitation of the heatsink, he needs to look at a better heatsink now.

Depending on your $$,yea, water is the best bet BUT, and not flaming you, do not run that thing at 100C..Turn down the clocks and volts until you get better cooling..PLEASE!
I wouldn't run that cpu at over 67-69C tops no matter what..

Yeh definitely, even the 80's i could see but 100 is wayyyy outta range.
If your lookin for a nice quick and easy watercooling kit that will yield great results, you wanna look at this...

you could run your setup without the case , but frankly it wouldn't help that much ;F , simply the Typhoon doesn't cope with the amount of heat that 4 overclocked cores with lots of voltage is doing, it simple laws of physics loss of power is manifesting itself thru the heat ;]
