Has anyone else had the Attansic Onboard NIC on the ASUS P5K Vanilla die on them? When I use it, the connection never acquires an IP address and then goes to limited to no connectivity mode. The only way I can get a network connection is by using a spare PCI NIC. I've tried everything I know to get the Onboard NIC running again and nothing has worked.

- Deleted and re-installed NIC
- Tried the Attansic diagnostics
- Tried to repair the connection
- Reinstalled the drivers
- Checked the cable
- Removed the mobo and tried to cleaned the connector
- Winsock Fix
- Reset and rebooted router
- Messed with the BIOS
- Reset the BIOS and went back to stock speeds
- Reverted BIOS

I really don't want to RMA the mobo over the onboard NIC :(

got a usb header plugged into the board just above pci-e slot?

If so, remove, nic will work.

running auto FSB/pci-e? set pci-e to 101mhz, nic will spring to life.

No. I saw that bug but I've never used that header.

I'll try this. I have tried Auto and 100 but not 101. It is acting like the PCI lock is screwed up.

Had this happen before. when setting pci-e to anything above 107 it would come up as connected but never connect to any websites.

Reset the pci-e down again and bingo works again

Yeah. Nothing is working for me though. I guess I'll have to use a separate card.
