New Video card ? I am Confused

I have been using my Nvidia 6200 TC on my Athlon x2 3800+ build for awhile> (because I was saving for this) Ok so now I have 415 dollars and I was thinking about getting a Nvidia 8800GTS 640 or and ATI 2900XT. Witch one would be the better buy ?

what resolution do u play at, if u use 1600x1280 or lower the 2900 will be faster, if u go higher than that the 512mb 29000 will choke, and the 2900 only needs 2xaa while the g80 cards need 4x aa for the same quality for most games

if u up ur budget to $470 u can get an his 2900xt 1gb ddr4 card, and thats the fastest card out rite now, with 2x or lower aa, and if uve been useing an nvidia card i think that u will like not haveing giant fram drops under load then massive frames when its not (ati cards are very balanced)
