worth it upgrade,hd2600xt 512 ?

Do you guys think I made a bad decision on buying the 2600xt?I have a x800 xl 256 meg card and need some thing to mess with until the top cards drop a little.The card I got is a 512mb ver with gddr4 for 165 bucks.

I wanted to buy a 1900xt but they don't support dx10.I plan on buyin another hd2600 when crysis comes out and running these in crosfire.

Ican get like 28k in 3d01 now with my system to the max.Will see how far the hd2600 will go,should be here tom.

not that much of an improvement,I'm up to 36k now in 3d01 in vista 32.

not bad for a 165 dollar card tho

the 2600xt isnt very fast u would be better off waiting until crisis comes out and getting a 2900xt since ive seen them for $350 it would be just a little more than a pair of 2600, or u could get the 8800 gts 320 (dont do the 640 the 2900 is better in that price range)


and u said u wanted a dx10 card teh only cards out rite now that can do dx10 at playable frame rates are the 2900xt 1gb ddr4, the 8800gtx and the 8800 ultra, the 2900xt 512 can do it at lower resolutions

I'm up to 37k in 01 in vista(@3.6g),I am happy so far.The card is hard locked and wont let you go past 860 on the core(it comes@850 stock)I think I can break 40k once I find a bios update that lets you over clock this thing.
I will be buying another card once crysis comes out,by then with driver updates they should score around 75-80k in 01 wich should be plenty for what I need.

if you don't have a decent card now and want something a little future proof(with the chance of running 2)this card for 165 is well worth it.By the time Dx10 games hit the streets you will be able to pick up your second card for like 100 bucks
