Im ditching my water setup and going back to air, looking for something to cool down the 2900. So far the best thing ive found is the HR-03 / R600 but no where to be bought? Is it not out yet? Is there something else?

**NOTE** I dont want to have to mod any cpu coolers or anythin gof that nature, just straight install.

i thought that his's fully coper 2900 hs was one starting to get to be one of the best cooling layouts without liquid

what about shoving a high output fan over the stock one to suppercharge it untill some giant 3pci slot cooler comes out

Keep the stock and run higher fan speeds with ATI tool........at 100% you should be down 10°C from stock

The problem with HR-03 etc is cooling of the Rams.........small heatsinks stuck to them just don't cut it (remember your thermodynamic classes)

Other than that its back to Liquid and danger den..........

If you put good heatsinks on them, its fine. Dont use the crappy sinks that coem with the HR03 and its ok

Keep the stock cooler, hot exaust air leaves the case and thats a good thing.

I'm not sure of the R600 edition, but there's 3 chips on the 8800 GTX that have less than a 1/4 in room before the heatpipes start smacking into them. Too bad those pipes don't go up @ an angle.

No point in exhausting the air out if it's not cooling the GPU well...

I have a 92mm http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/depf92drhisp.html - not actually gonna use that for 24/7, but I will however be using..... Thermaltake A2017 http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/th92blledsmf.html

And I am not using the stock RAMsinks from the HR03-R600...I have Enzotech BMR-C1's http://www.enzotechnology.com/graphic_card.htm

Also will be mounting the cooler with Liquid Metal Pad :)
