Hi guys,

I just bought an Opteron 150 CPU on the cheap, and am going to use it to build a server to host some old games like TFC/NS. However, it seems like mobos are going to be around $200... thats way out of my range. Anyone know of a cheap model that supports socket 940?

they made 2 of them the 939 is the the 90nm, while the 940 is an older 130nm chip

see http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Opteron%20150%20-%20OSA150CEP5AT%20(OSA150ATBOX).html

2.4ghz sledge hammer core

these were for servers and workstations half way through the 754 so u could get a higher memory bandwidth then they made them into 939 to distinguish the 2xx and 8xx on a different socket for marketing purposes
