Okay so I think im sorda in a conner here. I currently have a c2d 6300 clocks nice so thats powerfully enough. My motherboard is a evga 680i. I have 2gb of ddr2 800. But as a video card I have a older 6800GT sigh. So I will have the money to upgrade soon but what to do. Most I will be spending is $300 cad. Looking at cards like the 8600GTS it just looks weak 128 bit mem interface. Even my card has more than that. What should I do. I might be able to get a 8800 GTS 320mb version for my budget but will I lose big for half the memory ?

Unless you are useing an insainly high resolution the 320Mb version of the 8800GTS will be a great choice. You will have nothing to worry about VRAM wise.

Though the 640 MB is faster, though i wouldn't spend alot of money now when the new cards are due soon.

What is the screen res and what games? On a really tight budget a 1950XT is a very fast DX9 card. At around 1360x1080 or around that you need to start thinking of the 620MB cards 1600x1200 and you need to start to consider the higher cards.

Avoid the latest series of budget cards from both camps with gaming they are worthless. The old ones are better. As stated there should be a new series of Nvidia cards and a mid line of ATI cards worth considering soon.
