I have a 8800 GTX preclocked BFG card and now it seems that the card is faulty.
When I play newer very graphical demanding games like Halo 2 or Oblivion, you know games like that after a while like 20-30 minutes the screen freezes and suddenly the screen goes standby impossible to turn on again. But after a reset the computer works again.

But when I play a game like Red Orchestra for an exsample that game is pretty low demanding the game doesn't go down.

Im not very sure but I have seen temperatures as high as 87 celcius load tested with ATItool.
Now i know that 85 degrees is max recommended.
Right now I know I dont have a airflow at all so i opened the kabinet.
P182 ordered.

I checked the log and it says clearly that it is a driver error but i changed the driver with a newer one but still the same thing happens. So it must be the card. It runs at 600/1800 standard from factory.

Any one who knows what i can do about it?

Try using rivatuner and setting the fan speed to 100%.

I already set it at 100% in Rivatuner.
Temperatures is measured in Celcius.
Mobo: 33 IDLE
CPU1: 47 IDLE
CPU2: 45 IDLE
GPU: 53 IDLE
GPU DIODE: 61 IDLE "Which is the same as ntune measures"
GPU MEM: 54 IDLE
GPU ambient: 45 IDLE
I'll get back to you with a LOAD.

This is load temperatures.
My Comp:
C2D X6800
Asus Commando mobo
2 x 1 Kingston DDR2-PC6400
BFG 8800 GTX OC
2 x 36 raptors
200 gb maxtor
Seasonic S12 600W

It's all in a crappy no airflow kabinet, so i have ordered the Antec Performance One P182 kabinet.

i dont see anything wrong with those temps they are perfectly fine, ur saying that the screen goes into standby, i had that issue but using different driver helped me resolve that issue, i believe the latest drivers are the best. 78c is normal and nothing to worry about, even in the 80's its fine, i would worry if it hits 90s

I am using vista x86 if that has anything to say...

yeah 85 celcius is max recommended, the problem is i use the officiel newest driver.

I guess it's a little weird problem I'll try to install XP Pro on it next week since i have to disconnect my Raid 0 which means that the data on it is pretty much screwed :P So i can put it in the Antec Performance One P182. Don't like Vista anyway.

I think i solved the problem, my BFG 8800 GTX OC was preclocked from the factory to 600/1800 so i underclocked the core down to 575 mhz and it is stable now it doesn't freeze or anything.

Well then I would most certainly RMA it then....as you may have a heatsink defect....the card should run at the factory OC, and if it doesn't then something is wrong. Get what you paid for!

Yeah i know but i'll just wait untill next week to see if the new computer case i bought would work better, because right now there is absolutely no airflow in my current case.

I got the Performance One P182 case and now the 8800 GTX works at normal core speeds no problems at all, can even oc without problems...
