if u look down the page @ fan specs included with TT120, it says the fan is 25mm... so it possibly wont fit

hmm, so not even a little space would fit it ey?
ya and i see it
the fan slot only allows for 25mm thick fans.

what fans do you guys recommend for the tuniq then?
i dont care about noise, just high powered, roughly the 2500rpm speed

Don't get the Tuniq then. As simple as that. The Tuniq is IMHO designed for quiet operation. Even slapping a Delta on it (if it were possible) wouldn't help much. Read some reviews and decide on another heatsink would be my advice. Perhaps something like the Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme?

there are several heatsinks out there that are a tiny bit better than the Tuniq...i have mine on my desk in front of me:D...i am going to send it to "spawne32"...he is going to do a heatsink round-up.
i have the ultra-x..it's good but there are others that can give you very similar results like the ultra-x...for one, the enzotech ultra is a good heatsink and the TR ultima 90 is a good one...that heat sink can accomodate 90 and 120 fans and its mounting bracket is far more superior...there is a review of the Ultima 90 over in the reviews section of XS...you can check it out there.
TR Ultima 90: http://www.jab-tech.com/Thermalright-Ultima-90-pr-3852.html
BUT...the enzotech ultra has a very impressive finish on the bottom of the heatsink..take a look at the pictures on bottom of this page.

thanks for that mate, would lapping and getting a different fan for tuniq be a better cooler then? i love the looks of the tuniq

lapping should definitely lower your temps...i've seen guys report about a 2C drop...but...the hidden value is you use less AS5 or MX1 paste which means less time for the heat to transfer through the paste to the heatsink.
you need to find a 25mm fan...i think most, if not all, panaflo 120mm fans are 38mm thick...silverstone has a darn good 25mm thick fan that can crank out some CFM's...you might want to look at that fan as a replacement...it does come with a VR fan controller that you put into a 3 1/2" bay slot

thanks heaps ACE, would it perform nearly or maybe the same as a ultra X? with lapping it also with a higher cfm fan?

How come you're replacing the thermalright?

Replacing the fan won't really do much with a tuniq. The difference with my tuniq's stock fan isn't noticeable, becuase the fins are barely warm to the touch anyway. However, this could be because my IHS isn't flat, I've not checked, but I am not going to lap it.
At 1.425v, 3.2GHz, it loads at 60C.
