in front of my case lower my temps , I've noticed that when I have my living room door it drops temps about 4C .

i have something very similar blowing across my hdds & into my case - atm my vidcard & cpu r on stock cooling - & they r still noisier than that thing on lowest speed... while its not the quietest solution, imho its not a bad balance between noise/cfm... it depends on ur tolerance to noise as well obviously... also, my case side is open, so yeah... dunno what my temps are...

You could also move your computer into a windtunnel, that would help for sure. :D

Now, honestly, why don't you just improve your case cooling before doing things like that. ;)
