Hello Xtreme PC Power Users!
The guys at PC Power and Cooling in Carlsbad have a project they are working on and they asked me to post here for some user information.
They would like to know what cases (brand and model) you have mounted their larger sized power supplies in, and whether or not you had to modify your case to do so. They are in the process of compiling a list of cases that will accept their "deeper" than standard PSU lines.
The PSU's they want information on are:
Silencer 610 EPS 12v
Silencer 750 Quad
Turbo-Cool 1KW-SR
The Silencer models are 7.1 inches (18cm) deep (the dimension that slides into the case) and the Turbo-Cool 1KW-SR is 9.1 inches (23cm) deep.
Please list your information as follows:
PC Power PSU Model:
Case make an model:
Did you have modify your case?
If so, how?
If you want to measure your case to see if one of these PSU models will fit and let us know, look for any "stops" that would keep the deeper PSU from sliding in all the way, and also look for a top mounted fan that will get in the way. Both dimensions are critical.
Thanks!

750 Silencery Quad
Silverstone TJ07 - clearly no issues because this case has loads of room down there.

PC P&C 850W --same length as the 1000W iirc.
Thermaltake Armor
Had to cut out a cross beam which connected the outside support arm to the back of the case. I also had to remove the top mounted fan since the PSU obstructs ~1/2 of the top exhaust.

Did you have modify your case: Yes
If so, how: The tab where the psu wire goes in its to big and hits the back of the mount. I just dremeled the case a bit and now it fits without pushing the psu all out of place. Had a friend do it on the tab of his psu as well.

I'll keep that in mind when I'm in the market for a new case, unless I can get my wife to change her mind on one of those UFO cubes :D.

Case: Stacker 810
24pin cable is not lengthy enough, ordered extension cable.

Later i came to know that PC P&C makes custom length cables if we order on phone, atleast i would have known this from sales person, while ordering ext cable and PSU same time.

I have two Silencer 750's in Cooler Master Stacker 810 cases. I also have a Silencer 610 that just arrived yesterday. It will be going in a Cooler Master Centurion 5. Although I haven't actually installed it yet, it doesn't appear that there will be any problems.
I wish that I'd known about the availability of custom cable lengths.......

Not a specific fit issue, but on the Tubo-cool's if the wiring harness could be moved to one side or another (as opposed to the middle) and one of the zipties on the outside of the housing dropped so it would be more felxible that would make wiring easier. At least for me anyway :D

I'll agree with that. The cables are stiffer than a ..well, awefull stiff.
great PSU though..Rock solid +12 on both the clovers and one is carrying a Swiftech H20-220 Ultra kit also..Still shows 12v even at 100% load..
Both been at 100% load 24/7 since December..

I just got my 850 SSI and will be putting it in a Stacker 830 EVO probably tonight. I will post back the results.
I got the 850 installed in my Stacker 830. It fits but I had to reverse the direction of my Raptor in the top. I had to turn it so the cables were to the front of the case instead of the rear. I also would recommend that the wiring harness be moved to either side instead of the middle. And also maybe toward the botton. In my application the harness is pressed up against the Raptor.

I got the PCP&C 850 SSI in a LL PC-65, had to take out the top case exhaust fan to do it though. Woulda been better off moving optical drives down from the top of the case but I was lazy so made it work. It's living in a TJ07 now though.

Just finished fitting a Silencer 750 Quad in my T/Take Kandalf. Had to remove top blow hole fan and take out the croossbeam support which was secured by four small rivets, two minute job to drill them out! After that went in fairly easily.

750 Quad fit without problems in my Antec 900. I mounted it upside down so the wire bundle would be back towards the motherboard tray. I'm sure the 1KW model would fit too, looks like plenty of room for that extra length.
