Hey..
I'm having a very strange problem, and I would be extremely greatfull for any succesfull suggestions. I recently bought a:
EPoX 8RDA3+
2x Corsair PC3500 256MB
3000+ XP with H2O
My old hardware, Radeon 9700 Pro (not functionnable at the time being, so I'm currently running with a GeForce2GTS), a Soundblaster Live 5.1, and a 3Com 10/100MBit.
When I first got it, everything ran really good, but about a week ago, my 1MBit connection, could only get 50-60kb/sec through my computer, while at my other computer, it downloaded with 100kb/sec. I've also tested it on www.tdc.dk 's bandwith test, and it still only downloaded with 50-60kb/sec.
At this time, I was jusing my 3Com, so I decided to take it our, and just juse the onboard LAN. Well, it went okay for the time being with my bandwith, but now my computer started to freeze. Damn I thought, that was odd. So I reinserted my 3Com, and my bandwith went down again, but it stopped freezing.
I must say, that I don't remember the ordet that I did things in, but I've tried to have my Soundblaster out, and tried with the same model, just another card, and I'm always running with the newest drivers from www.soundblaster.com . It seems that if my netcard is in PCI3, and my SB is in PCI5, everythings runs perfectly, except my Internet bandwith.
Now how can this be possible? When running with my 3Com, I off course disable the onboard LAN, but it stills find the Realtek card in Windows, and can run with it, even if it it's marked as disabled in the BIOS.. strange, isn't it ?
I'm currently running with the BIOS dated at 19/6, the newest, so I can't think, that that could be the problem.
Just before, I tried to format my c: partition, but under the installation of Windows, if for the first time froze... I who had my thoughts of an driver to be the issue... I couldn't be, could it?
Now, I now it's a very complicated situation, but if you have any idea, WHAT SO EVER, about what could be wrong, I would be very greatfull, if you would give it a shot.
Thanks, Alaza.
