Is it true that Windows XP Pro 64bit does in fact utilize what a quad core can offer? Meaning that windows will actually use the 4 cores if need be? Thank you

Yes, a 64 bit OS (XP included) will be able to utilize a quad core. BUT (there always is a "but"!) what is really important is the applications that run on top of it that need to be written to access quad core power. The OS is really just the "instruction book" to allow programs to more easily manipulate the hardware.

XP64's kernel is actually Server 03 kernel (as u probably know) - so it better darn well make use of all avail cores! :D - i'm sure MS wasnt *that* dumb to write Server03 that it doenst make use of all avail cores

thanks guys. So if I understand this better, XP64 pro is better then XP HOME, as XP 64 is built with server 2003 kernel? Am I better off using XP pro 64 compaired to XP HOME?
