Very nice work by TAM-san indeed. It seems like the G0 Conroes might have to be taken seriously for LN2 benching after all.
The P5B Deluxe choice is interesting. Do you know if this was an FSB or CPU limit?
Very good:D maybe the new WR on PI1M may be done on an E6850 instead of a E6700

Tam's got one hell of a P5B Deluxe, same one used for his sub 9 I assume.

Very nice numbers Tam-san, what can we say more: it's Team Japan
Fredyama-san, I'm a bit confused about the description: did Tam use 3 CPUs - 1 L723A347 AND 2 L72141 ??
These results have been obtained with which one??
I'm chasing the golden stepping, when I can find one I may give another try to my good old P5B :p:

I am beginning to think that these new 6850 G0's chips are going to beat 6Ghz pretty son. And there is a big chance we will see that happen in Japan first :D
Impressive work!

TAM would like to convey his thanks to you all:)
The P5B Deluxe choice is interesting. Do you know if this was an FSB or CPU limit?
Just he has not opened any of his P5K M/Bs as he has been too busy lately:D I bet he will try it with P5K soon;)
Tam's got one hell of a P5B Deluxe, same one used for his sub 9 I assume.
Looks like another P5B Deluxe he used this time.
Please refer to his sub9s results in here (http://u-san.net/c-board/c-board.cgi?cmd=one;no=1158;id=)
Fredyama-san, I'm a bit confused about the description: did Tam use 3 CPUs - 1 L723A347 AND 2 L72141 ??

Obrigado/ arigato :D
He used only one CPU: L723A347=FPO/Batch # & 2L772141/4A22**=Serial/lot #(?) on the black sticker at the bottom of the CPU-- yep, they are too small to read:D
As for Bon-Festival, please refer to here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bon_Festival)
Actually, I do not know it well either but holidays:D
what does that CPU do on air or water in terms of FSB 1M :)

high FSB CPUs will have a huge advantage benching 32M with DDR3+P35 boards like P5K3 or blitz  >>> this CPU is such a gem it's not funny :D

i am scared to think how good his time would be if he had Micron DDR3 stuff
with only 850MHz 7-6-5-15 he would easily beat that time >>> also high FSB for the first time i know affects SuperPi from my recent testing with Asus P5KC hybrid DDR2/3 board so a CPU capable of astronomical FSB tweaked well would be amazing too [EDIT] errr 600MHz FSB on that run....well well well :D i think i know why that was quick >>> it may not be just P35+DDR3 then hehehe
now with Micron RAM 850 at those timings is nothing.....people will bench past 900 easily :D  it will be amazing what it will do for superpi :D
Stapler
08-18-2007, 05:52 PM
850 6-5-5-15 is very doable, check this SS (not mine, don't pay attention to the SP2004 clock it's not reporting right):

dinos22
08-18-2007, 05:59 PM
nice sticks OPB has for sure
well basically what i'm saying is that DDR3 is taking off where DDR2 left off IN 32M
in 1M times are still slow so 6-5-5- might actually be more beneficial there because of tight timings :)

other question, for this result in air , you also used 2.4v for vpll ?
cause mine does 563mhz in air on a P5K-E not yet modded (L720A696) .

You are quite welcome, Pt1t-san:)
I believe that all set vpull to the max bios setting-- in my case, it was 1.7V though actually slightly overvoltaged to 1.726V.
Please note NewBeetle has set it Auto with his P5K-E to get WR.
I am not sure what is the best cpu pull voltage for each M/B though...

As NewBeetle pointed out, how high FSB we can get out from it at 1.35Vcore x6 seems to be a key factor under extreme cooling:D ;)
As you know, not all L723A347 is as good as TAM's so you should grab them all while they are available:D
wow those are nice high clocking FSB batches you posted!
so the quick test of how well it handles extreme cooling is 6x multi 1.35v vcore test ?

Thanks eva2000-san:)
I guess it is an initial test necessary to dream about getting higher clockspeed but not a sufficient condition as there are many other factors to be considered such as cold bug, Vcore & other voltage setting, memory setting and so on ...
As we say, we never know till we try them:D

I noticed that you are the only one using a P5K Deluxe and was wondering if you ever tried your proc in a vanilla P5K to see if there is any difference in clocking? I am curious if they might somehow produce better high-FSB OCs than the Deluxe or Premium.

Sorry, I have never tried my E6850 with P5K Deluxe.
AFAIR, was not able to get higher FSB (clockspeed) with my E6700 under LN2.

Very well done Team Japan! :) Really impressive!
Thanks before-san:) I bet we will soon see many awesome results from French Team;)
This is my today's results. :D
Thanks for your posting of your #2 results:)
It was a bit dissapointed to find that #1 with higher FSB could not OC well under LN2:(
Our guess, higher FSB is necessary, may not be always applicable to E6850 unlike E6700:confused:
I will try my #1, around 530FSB, to find out though...

I'd LIKE to pick up some new equipment soon. I still have my ACCU-AIR account for LN2... I still have my immersion oil... I can still play :D
But I'm SOOOO out of it, I need to research best choices for CPU, MB and RAM. But it seems that 667fsb is more than a bit difficult. And there is NO G0 with a 10x multi or an unlocked multi... and a B2 probably can't DO 6gHz... right?

Pretty fair assumption. There are E67's and X68's that can come close but they're very hard to find.
Of course finding an E6850 with the proper FSB in it is as well. :p:

I'd go for a E6700 or E6850 now for SuperPi... don't ask me to pick you up any low multi CPU though, I'm a good low FSB CPUs 'finder' :D ( bad luck FTW! )

Hehe i gues you missed out elmors 5.8ghz X6800,
I believe, totally guessing, that X6800 is able to come close to 6ghz as well if people try also the 2.4V ppl, or they could just release a Q6850 lol :D

Unreal FSB, great job on working those boards that high for benching. Hopefully soon we will see more DDR3 at that kind of bus speed.

FUGGER-san,
Wonderful PI time by yorkfield was seen.
Hereafter, it again will be the enjoyment.
Someone going to IDF has not been heard yet.
PanteraGSTK-san,
I think may be the P5K is better for LN2 cooling.
P5K-E hears two capacitor explosions around Vcore....
Mr. New Beetle will also say that P5K is better in the LN2 cooling.
With quad core....I think it is perhaps the same though not understood because not cooled in quad core.
