I'm considering slapping two of these into a L1N64-SLI WS as a stopgap until AMD releases Barcelona... And it becomes affordable on a 2x scale :p:
Does anyone know how well they overclock? 2ghz isn't going to cut it.. Although I can get two of these for roughly the same price as one FX.

There looks to be quite a lot of thermal head room..

F3 revision tells you everything....
Just look here! (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=151746)
I know these are desktop CPUs but from Opty based on F3 you can expect at least that if not more :)

I wish that were the case for my Fx 70s!! I cant get more than maybe an extra 550mhz out of mine but I have to crank vcore all the way up into the 1.5 range, at that point my cooling loses its efficiency. I can do 3ghz with only a 1 notch vcore bump. 1.375vcore
I however have seen the Opties go way out there as far as speed, so my Fxs are more or less moot. Had I known from the beginning that they (opties) worked I would have gotten them.. my current hope is that the Barcelonas will work in the L1N even without a bios flash, because I dont expect ASUS to drop a big fat easter egg in our laps for that.

Thanks for the link Lightman, AMD seems to have a winner with F3.
The way I look at it making barcelona a drop in solution is in AMD's best interest, I doubt the corporate market is going to want to jump through too many hoops to upgrade.
Time will tell though.
Do you have your N/S bridge under water Hawkeye? If so what block do you use?

I'm thinking these look pretty good.. But are for intel. IIRC EK makes a simular block for AMD.

Good find, Petras is out of stock on so many things I've gotten out of the habit of looking there.
Performance-PC's has the same block in delrin, although it's about $8 more.

Has anyone with this motherboard tried the Thermalright SLI Northbridge heatsinks? If they would work it would allow my loop to be much less complicated and run cooler :P
