what 2.08v vcore, 3.04v vdimm and 1.9v NB volts not enough for ya ?

I need a little more on vdimm with my ddr2 ,when i put them under phase i need to give around 3.2 - 3.3v real, not from bios...

Only NB voltage is to low.

Only NB voltage is to low.

Yes,i think it would be better around 2.2v

I did some 2.4 volt spanking on my P965, air cooled NB lol.
For most benchies i use 2v or 2.1v, board still works after a year, offcoures 24/7 volts are much lower.

P35 needs less then P965, so 2.2v on the DFI P35 would be perfect!

all dfi p35 has a problem with vcore ... setting 1.6+130% i get 1.84V ... so if someone have vmod i will happy to test it ... :D

no idea on the volt mods but here's some pics of areas on the board if anyone can make them out

I get a 0.04v vcore droop with q6600, I'm looking for the mod ;)

Set the voltage dampner to "disable", it should stop the vdroop.

I'm looking for a vcore measure point if anyone's got one.

Only NB voltage is to low.
one question, for what do you need a high nb voltage?

maybe there is hidden DRAM voltage in the bios , you can check if using modbin to unhidden the highest dram voltage

Any one of you know where to measure vcore on this board.

Can anyone poste please whats written down on the IC marked in red? Can't identify it from the picture. Vcore mod shouldn't be a problem if i only know what IC is used :).

All the points marked in pink should be Vcore readout. Please don't measure with the DMM, solder a cable on. The parts are caps, connecting two of them could be... hm, don't know. Better don't try it. If it doens't work, try the other side of the SMDs. But it should ;).

There is a aluminium heatsink right beside the DIMM slots that's in line with the middle holes of the motherboard, can someone get me a better picture of that area?

Hm...

eva, your pics are really quite nice, but not optimal to read the written stuff at the IC.

Is it " VT1115M - AE0650 - 1811232" ?

@ tzitzos

Take the Vcore Readout from the picture i edited (posted above).

Do you need Vdimm Readout? There's a method that works always, but... erh... a bit tricky. You can measure the Vdimm at every DDR2 Slot.

Perform a search; look for P5W64 Mods. Koysen posted a pic there with a "manual".

Hm...

X2900 is using the same IC... but with another package. So even if we would have the FB PIN for X2900, it would be another at DFI board. Different package usually means different pin out.

All i need is the datasheet of Volterra VT1115MF. But it's not available to public. Seems like we'll have to wait for one of the famous guys who has access to the datasheet / pinout.

//Edit: Gotcha! Foxconns 975X7AB is using exactly the same IC. Same package. Vmod for foxconn = Vmod for DFI. BUT i didn't find it :X

The vcore mod is almost impossible due to the NDA ties Volterra has on this circuit. I may be able to reverse engineer my mod on the same chip for the QuadGT but I cannot guarantee anything.

As for the vMCH Lets look at this photo:

http://img219.imageshack.us/my.php?image=vdimmheatsinkarea1qr1.jpg

There is an empty capacitor area right after the inductor "1R8" can someone measure the voltage there (white part) to confirm that it is the same as the northbridge voltage?

Once that's been done I'll need someone else to take a photo for me of the small IC chip that is located in line with the circuit and the mounting hole; ie

measuring point -> inductor -> heatsink -> capacitor -> small IC and crystal

I need to see the writing on that chip.

Nothing speaks against transfering the mod form the Quad GT. If it's the same IC (xxxxMF) and you're sure that you figured out the right PIN (they're very small...) i'll try it, because...

My new toys arrived today. :)

Cheers Symphy, we'll start by just checking various resistances and making sure components are soldered ot the same pins ;)

If someone could figure out a dimm vdroop mod for this board it would come in handy. I set 2.35 in bios and get 2.25 under load.

Sorry Jumba such a thing does not exist, the droop for the vcore is a "man made" thing such that it can be changed. The droop you speak of is a side effect of the loading of the power circuit and cannot be easily dealt with using vmods. You may be able to use a thick wire to "bridge" the power circuit to the DIMMs which would reduce resistance improving the droop, but I don't have this board so I cannot comment on where such a wire should go.

Thanks for clearing that up, Johnny Bravo. ;) It's just a real pita seeing the voltage being read as 2.43V in the bios, having been set at 2.42V (my ram is specced at a max 2.35V) only to see that drop to 2.31V under load in windows (idling at 2.35). Maybe I'm wrong, but have there not been vdimm droop mods done for other mobos?

I don't think this board needs any mods besides the CPU VTT. I measured some voltages:

BIOS:
CPU PLL Voltage: 1.55
CPU VTT Voltage: 1.55
Northbridge Voltage: 1.5
Memory Voltage: 2.12v

Digital MM:
CPU PLL Voltage: 1.572 / 1.593v load
CPU VTT Voltage: 1.562 / 1.583v load
Northbridge Voltage: 1.505 / 1.523v load
Memory Voltage: 2.10v / 2.12v load

@Johnny Bravo
Could help me with CPU VTT Voltage mod, I need more than 1.6v :D
I have my board on the table with DMM and soldering iron ready measure and solder, any help is greatly appreciated ;)
