I just found out today that my dad just bought me a Zalman CPU cooler when I really wanted an Enzotech Ultra-X (load temps are amazing with Enzotech). So I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I just said I was excited :D Well since I have it now are there any mods for that CPU cooler? Its the Blue LED version. The only thing I hope right now is that he has the Socket 775 Bracket, because it doesn't come with it!

You can add a crazy high rpm fan on it, and it still wont be nearly as good as the Enzo....

Reaching back into the vault! I did this years ago, bought me only 2c on load temps (P4 prescott), but a lot better motherboard cooling:

actually, just remove the stock fan and strap a 92x38 or even 120x38mm fan on top; no need to cut it out from the frame. this way you'd get nice airflow right into the dead-spot of the sink. delta tri-blade should do the trick.

Sell the Zalman and get the Enzo and a blue LED 120mm fan. Perhaps he won't even notice that it's not the same.
--> no feelings hurt and still very good cooling. :)
Or just tell him the truth. Perhaps the best approach. If you tell him that you appreciate the really good idea, I don't think that he'll be gutted.

Well I just got it in my computer and it does nothing! I even added the two fans he got me (which are ok but kind of loud at full settings) everything is the same no freaking difference, what a waste of TIME!

Man, You can divide that heastink at half of them to make 2 equal halfs - 2 coolers for 2 graphic cards...:D
Also can patent thaht mod to make Your own series of "ZALMAN Navig coolers", something like Fatal1ty series... :D haha
BTW, Good mod man.
