I'm about to pick up a 9800np from best buy, as soon as I get my 9500 off my hands. I plan on fully modding it. The only thing that confuses me, is the vddq measurement point in macci's mod pic. Where exactly is C136? Does anybody have a pic of it?
Also, to anybody that owns a 9800np, preferably BBA: what kind of ram do you have? I am curious to know what kind of ram is commonly put on this card.

I dont have a picture of it..but its on the underside of the card when installed.. its close to the agp slot on the right side of care.... its a transistor thats in a sort of socket..how you measure from that point will be very tricky...what i did was connect a 5 inch piece of wire to the location..and ran that to the front of card and measured from that...i will try to post a pic for you...

Nice thread resurrecting  I ended up finding it, and that's what I'm planning on doing too (with the wire).

Oh, i forgot 1 thing..when i tried to solder the wire on the transistor socket area, i could not get it to stick..it could have been my soldering inability, but i tried and tried but it wouldnt stick...so what i wound up doing was touching the wire to the contact point and then crazy gluing the wire to the side of the transistor..maybe you wont have this problem..but if you do, heres 1 idea....

Did you try fluxing the wire and the soldering point? That usually makes my 30 gauge wire bond to anything with solder.

No i didnt use Flux...I load the wire with solder then heat it onto the point i want it..it worked for all the other points for the 4 V-mods..just not that one...i even put the iron directly on the point ..and it didnt even soften...So i just did what i posted above...it worked perfect...

Actualy my max is 460/380 on water..i think i got a beat card...i noticed my clocks were lower than others...not all cards clock the same...O well... the 391/351 is what i run the card at when playing games, surfing Etc...when i O/C, i crank it up till it crashes...Im tempted to get another one, but im going to wait till the next best thing comes out....Cash is sitting in the drawer....LOL PEACE..when Evil is DEAD!!!!

My BBA 9800 Pro can do 460/405 on stock cooling, without memory heatsinks, and on default voltage! Can't wait to vmod this sucker and put my Prometeia on it. :)
