*sigh* well it seems that it just cant keep up with a q6600, i mean im getting decent temps but ya i know when i put it all together i still had a e6600 and it was running very nicely but now im getting into nearer ambient temps @ 3.0GHz speedfan says its running at 3*C (core 0 @6*C, core 1 @6*C, core 2 @-6*C, and core 3 @-6*C) right now but im pretty sure thats off seeing as when i was working on my overclock it was registering 12*C in the bios. well it seems that i will need a new solution before too long, this sucks :(

tec on a quad works fine but if you plan on an OC then forget it. I have said that several times now. I have only used a 226 and I can tell you it will never work very good.

the problem is, even when i do increase the voltage to the tec (say 2 volts) to get an extra 40 watts of pull out of it, it does literally nothing, i think the problem is my water cooling loop just doesnt have the room to take that large of a heat dump but the only thing in the loop is the cpu :( the rad im running now is a Alphacool Nexxxos 360(120x3) from 2 years ago and its copper tubed cores with aluminum fins very tightly packed, and i got 3 95cfm fans running on it right now. maybe ill just move to a new rad that can take a large heat dump without crapping out on me.

Think about it your running around 105w of heat on stock so if you take the clock up just a bit on the chip your increasing the heat load a good bit! I know it increases heat dump a good bit with every MHZ. I am not sure about the alphacool nexxxos. I would think seems how it is a 120x3 rad. I only use a heater core and it seems to do ok! but I wouldn't try using it on a quad with a tec.
