Well since i as the first to do and started a few threads around the net about it. Let me say something first. It may or may not help. If you o/c your ddr and your screen completely freaks out aka lines etc etc then i think raising Vref will or should fix that problem. In fact it can actually help to save that card from frying imo. You gotta really play with it. Raise Vref to 1.45 to start with. Check and raise VDDQ to whatever you run it at. Say 2.90 or so. I've found 2.925 to 2.975 for VDDQ to be best for me. But hell i'm not even sure what type of ddr your card has. Description i'm giving is for Samsung and Infineon ddr btw. Just make sure you set Vref to 1/2 of VDDQ. In fact making Vref slightly above 1/2 of VDDQ works best. I say take your time and raise in small increments. Also if you bench you may notices that when you increase VDDQ 3dmark score may suffer a bit when you o/c. This would be attributed to an increase in core heat. Yes raising VDDQ and Vref does increase gpu core heat. Many people wonder why raising Vref would actually help or what it's for. I'm not gonna get into trying to explain it all. Hell i couldn't even if i wanted to. But after reading some data sheets it looks like Vref besides just being a reference for VDDQ is also used for CAS Column Access Strobe. Hm no wonder it's important then. Ok enough faking it. It's time for Pirates Of The Caribbean. :)
