Hi guys.

Im back home now and im thinking TEC again :D

I have some ideas for coldplate design and I would like to make something for big TEC's (62mm ones)

Originally I wanted to use a swiftech apogee but its only 50x50mm so its not big enough.

What I wanted to know from you guys is this.

Is there any waterblock you know of that has a base area of 60mm or more?

I dont think there is but there are allot of blocks out there that I havent seen yet.

Building the waterblock and coldplate is allot more effort than just coldplate on its own :(

I have searched and the only ones I found where 50mm

the only thing i could think of is a water block made for one of those old pentium chips....

I dont even think they made them back then lol

hey Holst, welcome back to leics :) i presuming you're asking for blocks that aren't discontinued (which the 6002 is), unfortunatly none of the one i have are that large :/

hey elfy if you call swiftech they are more than happy to make you one! IMO the only reason they are discontinued is so they can make a little extra cash off of a great idea!

It will, but the beveled edge on the block prevents a good portion of the block from making contact with the hot side of the peltier.

It is also difficult to attach a cold plate to the block.

Just check out the Arctic Web. http://www.arcticspider.com It's designed for the 437 Watt pelt.

I agree that the cold plate is hard to attach to the 6002 but there are different versions of the 6002! There are ones with the beveled edge and ones without.

Ahhh... I've only seen the ones with the bevel. I agree, if there was one without a bevel, it would be good to go then.
