Indeed, was a little surprising seeing this in the news so quick. The question is are they any good?

Tried these yesterday but ditched them pretty fast... the OpenGL bug is still present and in FEAR the FPS flew all over the place... :(

I really want to see some release notes on this...

Seriously, why so quick? ATi would be so much better off taking 2 months for one driver release, to get a major bug fixed.

I think releasing often is better to keep owners marginally happy. I would hate If I had to wait a month for the scheduled driver releases.

I wasnt aware AMD/ATi released beta version of Catalyst to the public. Maybe they added the new OpenGL driver on XP?

I remember reading something about these drivers some time ago over on Rage3D but for some reason I cannot pull them up. Anyone else have this problem?

Rage3D is having server issues... yesterday I couldn't even connect and now it just sits there waiting....

They wrote a new OpenGL driver for Vista from scratch. It is supposed to be ported to both WinXP and Linux sometime this year. ;)

So far, testing under RightMark3D 2.0 reveals significant boost in PS4.0 Mineral shader test - 335 fps, a full 20% over the 8800Ultra score.

That makes me tingly... but I want to see as to what extent the improvements are improving benches (other than this one).
