like the thread says, i am considering a low watt tec for my nb.
WHY)
because i am going to have a phase change on my cpu, and will watercool my nb soon with a ek delrin 680i waterblock and i wan't to squeeze ouot every mhz!!! also 80 watt tec is cheap
QUESTION)
is it a pain? is it worth it? i have a 1kw psu and would like to run it off that, i am fairly competent with soldering but would not like to mod my psu. So, what power does it run off of? 12v and ground? if so i can mod my molex.
INSULATION:
so im not scared about insulation, but is it a pain? can it spread to my gpu's?
im thinking somethign 80 watt or under, somethign SAFE, something easy to setup, and something that can run off my current psu. does anybody know of a 5v tec? and where do i get a cold/hot plate?

70 watt tec for cheap, its 12v, so i can mod a molex Y splitter, and run it off my 1kw psu, right? just have to worry about insulation.
something lik ethat?

yup, u pretty much got it, you should be able to run a 70 watt tec off your 12v line fairly easily although your ebay link is having issues, "page not responding" or something

kk its just a 2$ 70 watt tec. Could i run it off a 5v? and i hear something about nb retentioning brackets?

umm cant you just place the tec unit under the water block and then use the mounting brakets with the water block? like this, block->tec->nb? thats what i would do. and if the tec unit is to big then trim it down to the size of the block. and then use insulation around the chipset.

if you run the tec at 5v you wont get the most wattage out of the unit and yah...stick with 12v, your psu will handle it.

this is all from what I would do IMO

that isnt such a bad idea to sandwich the TEC block between the north bridge and the Danger Den 680i block...

Is this the tec block you are reffering to?

Just remember a coldplate to spread the cooling from the tec's entire cold side to the small chipset chip. Then it should get the cooling job done nicely
