UPDATE: Found the problem with the wall on the g0!

IT WAS the motherboard... Somebody hinted to me the problem with the motherboard. . I think Gigabyte has a new BIOS they need to write, currently F12.

Had to set the following options.

CPU 1.45V
FSB 400
Multipler 8x

Let it boot up, then go into BIOS and change the multipler to 9x

CPU 1.45V
FSB 400
Multipler 9x

Results: It is ALIVE :ROTF: Lets see how high I can get this baby now.

What kinda wall is this? All was going so so good with G0 Stepping....

I have been upping the overclock on my g0 today and it has been going flawless up until now. Lemme show you all the problem, I am not sure it is CPU related as it comes so abruptly. All cores under 50C at load.

Q6600 G0 Stepping

2.40 @ Stock volts

2.60 @ Stock Volts

2.80 @ Stock Volts

3.00 @ Stock Volts

3.20 @ 1.275V

3.30 @ 1.30V

3.40 @ 1.325V

3.50 @ 1.350V

3.50+ is not booting no matter what Voltage I am trying. It won't post, but does something similar to the famous DS3 Cold Boot Problem.

What do you all think the problem is? My Enhance 500W PSU, My motherboard, The Bios (F12), or the G0's are binned to the extreme.

I'd say PSU as it's only 500W but what are the specs for it? How many Amps?

Mine POSTS with 400x9 but can't get into windows because the highest vcore I've done was 1.375 in bios. I'll have to try 1.425 at home.

Which rev DS3?

I have a Rev 2.0 DS3.

I am going to call it quits here(3700 OCCT Stable, 32M Stable, Futuremark Stable, Orthos Stable for ~30min) for now and back it down to 3500 until I get a better power supply. I am not getting any errors at 3700+ speeds, but after a while 30min+ on ORTHOS it just reboots. I don't think the 500W Enhance is sustaining the power required at those loads.

So for now I am going to be content with 3500 until I can get a better power supply, I am not feeling to comfortable with the 500W Enhance at this point.

I can only hope that when my G0 Q6600 arrives, it will be as good as yours

Mwave was all B3's only. NCIX had nothing but g0's for a while, but a couple people report getting b3's

Ya, If you want G0 don't buy from Mwave mine was B3 and they wont even accept RMA's on deffective processors which I did not know or else I would not even consider buying from them!

Glad to see you got it worked out... did we really need a whole new thread though!? It's all good dude. I am especially impressed you are getting that speed on a P965, since that is what I plan to drop a quad into.

Like I said in the other threads you posted about this lol... you are one lucky SOB!

Now overclock it more....

P.S. could you post all the specs on your box here and the batch code etc from the chip. I want to try and find a chip now similar to yours :)
