This chip generates frighteningly heat.
When the voltage is high any further, it becomes easy to down by heat.
I think this voltage and this temperature is the best balance.

congratulation NewBeetle....battle is really interesting with all these 6700's...

Yes, I tried.
With "performance 7", 5.6G is OK but 5.65G-5.7G is no good. :(
It seems to have to cool the chipset more.

I tried 16M-32M run but "Geki-chin"(it means "not going well" in Japanese). :(

And yet it follows basic design cues that Team Japan has been following since before XS even knew what liquid nitrogen is. If anything they know what's effective, and the proof is in the pudding. I don't see anyone else doing 1M at 5740 or suicides at 5815 now do I?

This pot named "MaxxNEO" was made for duck and me by Tam.
The aim was to have captured Prescott.

Hi NewBeetle,
What does this tape inside do? :)
It's a good reminder that there is more than one way to do things ;)
The role of the tape is to adjust the surface area and to manage the
temperature.

Gautam-san, many thanks always. ;)
I have four CPU copper pots.
Each pot is used properly by the character of CPU.
Though MaxxNEO is suitable for CPU of high generation of heat,
it has a fault that the setting and driving are difficult. :(

Each pot is used properly by the character of CPU.

This is something that us benchers in the west are only beginning to grasp and its worth noting. Some people are under the impression that an endless amount of capacity is necessary, and make extremely large pots accordingly.

However if the capacity of the pot is too high for the CPU on hand, you'll have a needlessly long pulldown time and often a lot of swing.

Just as phase builders tune their systems for the load, LN2 containers can be tuned for a load as well. Which is certainly an intricate process of trial and error that can take a very very long time and many attempts to get right.

On that note, NewBeetle-san, forgive me for being slightly off topic, but do you know when the Japanese first began LN2 benching? 2001 or so or was it earlier?

Though I don't know in detail, LN2 Benching in Japan had already reported in 1998.
I think TAM-san surely knows about LN2 Benching in Japan better than I.
By the way, My LN2 Benching began to be real from the summer of 2004.

:) OT Would like to know more about the history of LN2 benching and the evolution of the POT designs used in particular. Possible future thread? Or are there records (both text and pictorial) of those early LN2 available on this or other forums? Searched here but no joy.

Back on topic. Looking forward to seeing more FSB 1333MHz results - again great efforts thanks for sharing.
I will report on the image ,the spec, and the feature of my 4 Pots as early as possible.
Please wait for a while. ;)

QFT.

Thanks Beetle for sharing your surface area concept, so simple yet so effective
The tape might not only be used to control the temp but also paper is used.

guatam is referring to surface area not newbeetle-san

can we see the 4xdifferent pots and what characterises their designs

how do you actually go about testing a CPU and marry to specific pots :)

this is a lot more interesting than all the winking we get from a few guys "in the know" at XS/west i think
I will report them.
Please wait for a while. ;)

Great result

Where can I buy V-TEC ARC Bed Rev.3.3 (does it include pci card holder ?) ??
Please send me PM.
I'll tell you the information about it.

hey just noticed that you have very interesting looking container NewBeetle-san. looks really nice imo.
very different from what i have seen . most of them are usually round.. does that kind of design give any advantage in term of cooling power..

personally i know ive learnt a great deal not only about extreme PI benching, but optimizing performance at slower speeds and today again about pot dynamics,

congratulations on the amazing results ;)

im very interested on how you feel cooling the mch and sb affects your fsb and cpu overclocks? does the Vio mod give you extra stability at higher clocks?

Please try it.

because of the right of the design. :(

I feel the mch and sb cooling is very important.
However, so as not to cool them too much, I am cooling by water.
And I think that Vio mod is not very important for this P5K board.

How to improve "performance level" is the setting of "CPU PLL Voltage" in my system (CPU#7 & P5K-E).

Very impressive Mitsuaki-san!!!

Great achievement! :D :toast:

That CPU is a real killer. When will you start benching 3D? :)
I did 3D bench only once with 7900GTO-SLI.
However, I did not continue because it cost too much. :(
I want to try again if there is a good sponsor. :p:

Very nice runs Newbeetle-san ;) I'd love to play with such a great CPU...

Congrats :toast:
Thank you so much for your congratulations always, before-san :)
I know you are one of the greatest pi bencher in the world.;)
I wish the goddess of OC to bring you a great CPU like your FX-57(San Diego) again.

It only took you 6 weeks, now didn't IT (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=2247201&postcount=43) :)

After 1M, that was another wall that simply gave in to you, tired of all that restless smashing, NewBeetle
Huge congrats :toast:
Thank you so much for your encouragement. ;)
However, I want to take the rest only a little now. :p:

I was sure, you will be first person, who can run under 9 min.

Great cpu, and greater master! Congratulations!:toast:

Now, you must go
Thank you always, over-san.
This result is a favor of this great cpu. :D
I make an effort to demonstrate the ability of this chip. ;)

Again at the end, thank you so much, M3kk-san, Fr3ak-san, before-san, bachus_anonym-san, over@locker886-san, and rick_fx-san :toast:

this is a very interesting design indeed
looking forward to hearing from you regarding this.....i'm in no rush :D

Here is the image of my 4CPU-Pots + 1Chipset-Pot.

http://homepage2.nifty.com/NewBeetle/Pot_4+1.jpg

From the left side : Maxx NEO, Kuri-Pro 2, Kuri-Pro 4, V-TEC ARC Pot Rev.12.0XE

                       Center : Tara-chan 1st

1. Maxx NEO (90mm x 60mm x 120mm / 2050g) by TAM

For P4(Prescott,Cedar Mill)

Extra high-power CPU Pot, but it is difficult to treat and it awfully cools surrounding capacitors. :p:

2. Kuri-Pro 2 (60mm x 120mm / 1340g) by TAM

For Athlon XP(Barton), Athlon 64(Winchester,ClawHammer),Core2DUO(Merom), Pentium M(Dothan)

It's a basic model and the temperature management is easy. ;)

3.Kuri-Pro 4 (70mm x 150mm / 1650g) by TAM

For P4(Prescott,Cedar Mill), Core2DUO(Conroe)

It is easy to treat, gets cold well, and LN2 cost is good, too.

4.V-TEC ARC Pot Rev.12.0XE by Vigor

Only for Pentium M780 (I got pifast WR with this pot : 07-28-2005)

Special one of model made for me by Vigor.

5.Tara-chan 1st (40mm x 60mm) by Kimuchi

For Chipset

It is the lethal weapon of chipset cooling. :D

Newbeetle, how much helps the watercooled Northbridge and southbridge to get te overclock stable? Is it just a matter of 1-2mhz higher than with aircooling or am I wrong here?

The advantage of watercooled might be about 2-5MHz. :p:
However, watercooled might be considerably advantageous if becoming long distance like 32M.
For me the maximum advantage of watercooled is not to cause the flow of air.
The flow of air should be a little because it makes frost and dew on the board. :(
Therefore, FAN is used to cool the memory by a minimum amount of the wind.

Watercooling on NB, I can run @FSB615NHz. :)
But using LN2 on it, NB is freezed. :(
Using dry ice and adjusting the temp (-)10C-(+)5C, I can run @FSB635MHz.

I think the NB cooling about 0C is possible without the copper pot.
On aircooling, Dry Ice can be put directly on the heatsink.
On watercooling, if rageetar is cooled with ice, it is likely to get cold up to about 5C. ;)

Wow NewBeetle this thread started strong and got stronger as you went on unbelievable 32ml suppi. To hold those temps with your "baby" cooler on its own was unreal and would have been fun to watch:clap: Very Very well done on a great job and tight benching. Team Japan stays Suppi kings
Now you can rest and watch .;)

Thank you so much, rra-san. ;)
Now I rest a little. :p:
But I am preparing little by little for a better result. :D

Hi~ Newbeetle-san
My P5K(Vcore , Vdroop MOD) ....
When 1.72v it is above and the OVP is operated
After window entering it becomes the rebooting
(Vocre Monitoring Ignore)

Plz... OVP MOD :)

Hi, OC_Windforce-san. :)
I'm very sorry that vmod is not my specialty. :(

I hear from OMEGA-san and kyosen-san about this problem.
They have not succeeded yet though they tried variously.
It seems to decide the limit of Vcore by the individual difference of "ADP3198".

But we have only one method.
First, boot @ low Vcore.
When OS starts Vcore is raised.
It is likely to become 1.9V or more if going well.
Please try it once.

If it uses the method to inform, it becomes the Reebting.. :(

Thanks Neebeetle-san ;)

:bows: to the kings of Super Pi. I suppose that 6Ghz and 7.x sec will soon become reality, and I have a strong feeling that Team Japan will be among the first to do so.

NewBeetle - congratulations for Your road to domination on SPI.

Next :

OC-Windforce : You have no lucky with this mobo; my P5K can easy boot, and go to windows, next operating at 1.92V+ with no problem.
But I have small problem with FSB  537MHz is max from Windows and max from bios  To low speed for me :D

I don't see any OVP mod for this mobo already.

That's too bad..... :(
I pray that the next arriving boards be good boards. ;)

If Wolfdale(L2 6MB) appears, 7.x sec might be able to be achieved also with 6GHz or less. :D
And, there might be a chance to achieve it for the first time in any team.
