[VISTA] stupid question concerning cpu switching ...

I have a question concerning vista :

if a replace a C2D E4300 by a C2Q 6600, do i need to reinstall vista ?

I really do not want to reinstall my os ( because i have 2 spinned disks and i am no confident that a fresh install will able to recover my spinned disk without data loss ... obviously it concerns about 0.8To of works and photos )

No you dont have reinstall Vista, but I would check your motherboard makers site to make sure your motherboard works with quad cores
