When i switch on my pc this messege pops up..."ntldr is missing press any key to restart"
Does anybody have any ideas how i can get my pc going again?
Ive tryed the win xp pro disc to try and fix through installation... shows list of partitions....it seems to list... "unknown disc (there is no disc in this drive)"...4 times down the screen....Im guessing this could be a clue...but i havnt a clue....lol

Lower your overclock. This usually happens for me either when I clock too much or when vcore is too low...
Otherwise, if this isn't overclock-related, boot using your WinXP disc and go into the maintenance console and run "fixboot".

Just tryed underclocking...it hasnt made any differance.
Ive tryed recovery console. i get this messege "fixboot cannot find the system drive, or the drive specified is not valid"
When i try to repair using the installation option xp pro disc (not recovery console) it gets as far as the partion screen...like i explained above...theres no sign of my widows installation on my hdd. just says "unknown disc (there is no disc in this drive)" repeated 4 times.

Reinstall XP. Thats the windows boot loader. Mine does the same thing once or twice a year.
Also try removing one stick of ram, its possible that one could have went bad...

You should try reformatting and installing Windows. If that doesn't work then your hdd is broken.

i agree with ^
ive had this error before (after oc of an x850xt - rooted the whole install... i couldn't even boot to the cd) i pulled it apart and reinstalled the whole thing from scratch.
ntdlr, also hal.dll was farked.
do a repair if you can or create a new partition with a new os install if u want to save your old data.

OK, do this:
1. Fetch a empty floppy
2. Dowload http://tinyempire.com/notes/files/fixntldr.exe]fixntldr.exe (http://tinyempire.com/notes/files/fixntldr.exe) to a functional computer
3. Run fixntldr.exe by double-clicking on it
4. Do you remember if your Windows directory was named "Windows"? If you do not, just continue...
5. Put in the newly created floppy in the computer which is missing NTLDR
6. Try the first option ("1ST TRY THIS"), if that does not work, pick another option
Oh, I realize now that I do not have to translate the whole guide into English as it apparently already exists in English.
This will most certainly fix your problem, see:

Is your windows on a raid or anything? If it is, you'll have to load the drivers for the controller before it will see the partions.

Try loading bios defaults. Check your hdd cable connections too. This plagues me all too often.
