View Full Version : Help me decide on a case!

I need help deciding on a case. I'm thinking either a CM Stacker 832 or a SilverStone TJ09.
If you want to suggest something else, go right ahead.
Oh yeah, I'll be using air cooling, but might get into water later.

If you're gonna watercool... get the 832. The TJ09 has no place for a rad internally.

Bump. Need more votes!

Neither is too friendly for internal watercooling, but with some modding work you can fit a rad internally on the 832. I like that case more anyway, so I vote for it :)

Will the Tuniq fit in the 832 with 4 fans on the fan thing?

I voted for the 832 as it was the only one that could possibly hold a great rad internally. But my "real" vote goes to a TJ07 :)

I think with some modding I could mount a rad on the top of the 832. Cut out the top so the rad fits :)

You could fit a rad internally on the TJ09 (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=150509) - a 240mm will fit without any need to hack up the case, or a 360 if you extend out the top cut-out. Personally I think it looks better than the 832, as well as having a much more elegant internal design.

Excellent point.
The problem is I like both cases very much which makes it really hard to decide.
The TJ09 has a window, whereas the 832 does not, and I would like a window. The top grill on the TJ09 could prolly take a 240mm rad with a little modification.
Then the outside of the TJ09 is very elegant, with clean lines, while the 832 just screams bada** on the outside.

Never liked the Stackers. TJ09 got my vote, but I also second the recommendation for the TJ07 as well.

The TJ07 is a fine case, but it is rather expensive :(

Indeed it can. There's a whole thread on this case Here (http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1080113), showing a number of builds using the top vents for a 240mm.

Thanks for the link. I think that pretty much sealed the deal. I'll go for a black TJ09 :D

I don't see why not; that should fit fine.

Stackers are like flared pants and hula hoops.
Cool at the time but they date you.
The Silverstone is better made. Not as good as Lian-Li but better than the Stackers.
TJ-07 my vote

I was gonna say i've seen plenty of pics with Rads inside TJ09s. I also think my TJ09 is much better than my old Lian Li

+1
The TJ07 gets my vote.

No offence, but how can you say that's an expensive case when both of these cases are already $250 +?
I'd get the Silverstone TJ-07 or the CM Stacker 830 but that's just me.
I agree with the tj-07, that, or go with the lian li v2000b (especially if you ever plan to watercool, or even more extreme such as chilling and phase change), but the tj-09 is still a pretty sick case too.

Stacker 810 or if your going to be spending $250+ just go for the TJ07 or V2000

the stacker would probably have better cooling with so many fans, yet with that many fans would be much louder than the TJ09 so take that into consideration if noise is an issue two you.
