I'm trying to get the best FPS in Video Stress Test but I cant. My specs are in my sig and I tried running at all settings (low and maxed out) with 1024 x 1280 and 1024 x 768. What are your guys settings?

Mine is about 150 all the time, but I just want to pass that. My computer is able but I will see, because im having XP, windows 2k, and FREEBSD and in my two hard-drives and test.

CSS is one of the most CPU dependent games out there. Even a 8600GT is enought for the game at decent resolutions, but as long as your CPU is bottlenecking (say anything below a 2.7Ghz C2D class), even a GTX 280 won't help you.

412fps with 1280x1024, all maxed out, AAx16 through the drivers.
That stress test is not an accurate measure of in-game performance, because it a) does not include HDR b) has very limited view distance; very small leafs are drawn at one time.
Source engine takes biggest performance drop from drawing complex brushwork and big visleafs (google "binary space partitioning"), and that test is rather designed to test complex shading effects (refractions, reflections, transparencies, bump maps, particles, specularity, cameras).

It's your processor. The Source engine is highly reliant on CPU power and an E4300 @ 1.8Ghz isn't cutting it. Low cache and low Mhz. Overclock and you'll see gains, but I'd consider moving up the processor line to get something with more cache. CPU bound games love cache on Intel processors.
