Alright, so I suppose I dropped a screw, and it fell somewhere in the front of the case. Usually, those things just stay put or make their way out into the open once you tilt the case. Not this time. I thought nothing of it until I tried pulling out my lower HD cage recently. The cage gets stuck and wont open, as if something is blocking it (yes, i undid the thumb screw holding the cage in)... but what could fit into what is otherwise completely riveted shut? A screw!

Usually my first reaction is to keep unscrewing stuff until I can solve the problem, but this case seems to be held together completely by rivets. Has anyone else lost a screw, maybe even had it lodged in the HD case sliding rails? Any tips here?

Thanks in advance!

Take everything out, turn the case upside-down, and bang on it until it comes loose. Failing that, have a poke around with a magnetised screwdriver.

A magnetized screwdriver just a few mm away from the HD? I'll pass!

Note the "take everything out" part.

Lol... I saw this thread on the main page of the forums. It said...

"Ever lost a screw in a..."

I thought it was just going to say "...case" and I was going to come in here and talk about how the p180 has taken more of my screws than I can count...

Seems we have similar predicaments.

I lost like, a dozen screws to that bugger, including a bunch of screws used to hold down the mobo (the ones that screw into the standoff).

Mobo held in place with five screws now. Don't know where they all went.

It turns out my problem was caused my the HD sticking out of the cage only a few mm... so all this time I've been slamming the HD against the case

Stupid gel shock absorbers..
