i will be volt modding my albatron ti 4200p card.i have the 5k vr,but i had to order the 2k vr.all they had were 20 turn,oh well, those will work too.
i lapped the copper heatsink today, finishing it with 1500 grit sandpaper.i also lapped the gpu.a staight edge now sits flat on gpu, unlike before where it was concave.before lapping the vidcard hs and the gpu,i had a temp probe just touching edge of gpu.it idled at 40c,gaming etc,it would climb to 48c.
after the lapping job today the temps now read34c idle,39c under load.i am very impressed to say the least.i am thinking of rigging up a 33cfm 60mm papst fan to the cooler.just gut the old fan.i would just trim away some of the housing and screw it on.see attachment.would this be enough extra cooling to make up for the extra voltage.i have had this core up to 350,playing games and benching.memory i have had as high as 710.
this is an excellent forum, with very helpful and friendly people, which is nice to see.thnx for your input
