Got my E6850 today I have not had much time to fool with it yet but I did run OCCT at 4Ghz 1.55 vcore. 4401 (http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=218126) at 1.65 volts. TAT does not report the temps right with this cpu or it may be the board? It read right with my E6600. It was reading idle 18-20c in 25c ambient and 32-33c load. I am folding with the SMP core at 4Ghz

Very nice chip road-runner. I wonder if these can do over 600 FSB, everything would be perfect then ;)

If I go any higher than this I get reboots after about an hour of running. I even tried up to 1.6 volts. This is 1.55 volts.

I tried to boot at at 566X7 and no go. I think my 6400 HZ can not go that high. Currently running 500X8 for 45 minutes...

They should do 566 fine as long as you give them some volts =)

Something causes a random reboot occasionally even at speeds that run orthos 11 hours or OCCT and have been folding for 24/7, it may go a day or two with no problems then just reboot. I am not sure what it is yet, any ideas?

I know there is a fix for that, a patch of some sort. I wish i could remember where I read it. Luckily for me, it can be completely disabled in the 680i BIOS.

I'd *like* to say its a board quirk most likely, probably something with the vCore stability (possibly PSU).

Auto almost always seems to use more voltage than needed with that chipset.

hmm im sure they dont use it 24.7 usage. since my understanding with voltages. The more you run through the cpu itself is what damages the chip.
Yes heat also isn;t a good thing either but you have to remember, the Voltage you throw through it obviously take a beating to the cpu itself.

I think the last 3 digits matter less. What matters more is the 5 first digits IMHO.

Would u like to say sth about your temps at 3.96?
i have E6850 (L719A773) and I am able to push the CPU to 4Ghz, Vcore=1.63V, stable. The Cpu is Water cooled. With my setup it is impossible to keep temp below 60C. Running about 33c at idle and around 63-64c load.

Makes sense. Running only one allows for use of the entire cache, while doing two at the same time cuts the available cache in half.
