Ok. Yay, problems encore. After doing a nice rewire job my computer does the 6 second or w.e powerup, then off thing again. The same problem occurred again when I installed a new dvd drive. When I installed the dvd drive I just rewired everything, (unplugged it and then plugged it all back in again and it worked properly.) Anyways...So now the third time this problem has occured, once again, I tried to do a sexy rewire job and it doesnt work. So I decided to do some down to the bone troubleshooting.

-unplugged everything, but left the mobo and power supply connected. Even without ram, it still woudlnt work right.
-I decided to hook up a psu from another computer to it, it worked fine. I used my psu in the other computer, it worked fine.

My thoughts:
-the wiring in the power switch on the case is messed up or
-my computer is racist, because my psu is black?

I doubt the second one..lol...Anyways, anyone have any other ideas?

I copied this from one of my threads on another forum, so if you need clarification feel free to ask.

Anyways hope someone can help me.

Simple questions......what power supply are you using and what motherboard are you using?

(I'm just betting DFI is one of the answers..... ;) )

Have you checked that your rewiring isn't placing too much load on one rail?
