Just wanna say hi to everyone at xtremesystems. I am waiting for the price drops on q6600 like everyone else :p: and in the meantime, Im looking at this:

evga 640 mb 8800 gts

This will be my first build and I do plan on overclocking and Im still in the process of learning the OC jargon :D

Welcome Curry, that build looks really nice, the only thing I would change is the 8800GTS. Get the 320MB version. With newer Nvidia drivers the extra RAM isn't really a boost in performance.

Well, the thing is first I play at high res (1680 X1050 Widescreen) and the 320mb chugs at higher res. Also, since DX10 is only available on vista, M$ is forcing me to go vista ( M$ always gets its way! damnit ! ) so 4 gig should help. Plus I got good deal on the ballistix :D

Curry, you don't need vista for DX10, and you should stay with XP until vista matures or you can actually buy a few DX10 games.

What are you talking about? There was just a post on this forum about how the new Nvidia drivers made the 320 and 640MB versions of the GTS compareable and not worth the extra 100 dollars.
