View Full Version : Dual rads - mountainmod or other?
I'm thinking about setting up a case with a dual Thermochill 120.3 setup, and I'm wondering if there are any alternatives other than MountainMods? I'm really not sure if I'm ready to spend $350 on a case.

Well..if you dont want to spend $ 350 you will not have a lot of options...Lian Li 343B is around this price too and i dont know other case that fits dual pa120.3 internal
120.3 + 120.2 is possible in TJ07

you would be lucky to only spend 350 on a MM case. Thats the base price with nothing and no shipping. You're going to be closer to 500 thn 350 when you are all finished with it.
If you are willing to take a pa120.3 and a pa120.2, then there are lots of cases that can support both. I personally have a G70 with a pa120.3 up top and a BIGTX240(I cut the holes for the pa120.2 since that will most likely be my next upgrade) rad on the bottom with enough psu room for a PCP&C 1Kw.

Lian-Li V2000 gets my vote, should fit dual PA120.3's down there, if you side mount.

if you feel like doing some modding then get anything other than a MM case...if don't then a MM is the only way to fly...*-)

V2100B... see sig if you want pics
Alright, I guess I'll focus more on a 120x3 and a 120x2. I know this doesn't belong in this forum, but there's no need to start another thread, so here's a question:
It's better to run the CPU on the 120x3 loop and the GPU on the 120x2 loop, no?

Run the CPU on the 120.2. Everything else on the 120.3
Run the CPU on the 120.2. Everything else on the 120.3
Sorry for asking, but why? I always thought it'd go the other way. Also, I only plan on cooling the CPU and the GPU. No SB or NB, I keep reading that there's no point in cooling them.
Side note: If anyone knows of any more cases that can do 120x3 and 120x2, please let me know. I'm hunting, but it's hard to find.

Ok first of all we need to know the components you plan on running in these loops. Because if you are running dual gpu's they will generate more heat that the cpu. And the only other case that does not require that much modding would be a TJ07, it can hold a 480 and a 240 in the bottom.

A 768mb 8800GTX and a Q6600. Only one GPU, don't have the cash (or need - SLI just isn't worth it to me) for two.
Two loops, one for each component. Feel free to tell me if that doesn't make any sense, too! I'm assuming that putting them in two loops will give me more overclock/better performance. I'm new to this game, so if I'm wrong, tell me so.
Or would it be wise to just stick with a single 120x3 and run both the CPU and GPU off it, CPU first?

I see no reason to have the video cards on a 120.3. I have an ati x1900xt on a dual rad and the load temps never go above 45'c under load(according to ati tool). Stick the quad with the 120.3.
