Is there any way to mod vcore of 9700 pro without a soldering iron? Also what's the best ohm resistor to use? 2.7k?

actually I kinda figured it would be easier to just get a resistor and solder it ..its very small thats why I wanna do that. So what does everyone recommend in terms of how many ohm resistor?

also could i use a gluegun instead of soldering iron? or anything else for that matter? besides a smd grabber of course..

Yes, you can use 2 smd-grabbers for pin 18 and pin 20.

See here for pics http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/614600/0

Default voltage = 1.5 volt

8K2 Ohm geeft 1.58 Volt
5k6 Ohm geeft 1.61 Volt
2k7 Ohm geeft 1.75 Volt

it's doable with SMD grabbers and some glue. it even doesn't void your warranty :)

but i cant glue resistors? why?

would make bad contact, not strong enough etc. it will work but don't be surprised if it lets go

ok well i did it with glue gun and it seems that it made decent contact....I used a 2.2k ohm resistor i got at radio shack.. I'll have to wait till wed. to try it out.

what would a 2.2k ohm resistor give me? Anyone have an idea?

I guest with 2.2K resistor you will get 1.8Vcore or something around.

and with 3k2Ohms resistor i'll get about 1.68 ~ 1.72 ?!?!?!?!? And wicht "wattage" i have to use?! the resistors i have here are for 1w.... can I use those resistors?!

(sorry for my bad english, i'm brazilian! ;))

Yeah you can use them but 1/2 watt would be even better cause they are smaller. with 3.2k i think you might get around there
I think 2.2k gave me about 1.81

hmmmm.... thx man! =**
now i have to dicover whats "grabber" means in portuguese... i don't know what to say to the seller!! Do you have photos of the grabbers?! i think isn't necessary soldering when using grabber, don't is?!

funny thing is I did the mod and I couldn't oc it more than what I could without it..the voltage was there I was at 1.75-.79 ...I could OC it but the thing is I would get artifacts no matter what after 405 core..I could get 402 core without artifacts without the mod. I had it oc'd to 420 and when I was in windows..I pulled out the resistor from inside my case and my screen got all §§§§ed up...I restarted and everything was fine but its strange that I could not OC much more. Anyone have this problem?

I could be a cooling issue your having, more voltage more cooling.

so its pretty obvious to me now that macro has watercooling right?

aff grabber são ponteiras com garras para fixar em componentes smd, usa solda mesmo mané, sem problema.

po até aqui tu encomoda:mad:

God dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!:slobber: WTF this §§§§in n00b is doing here?!?!?!?! loooooooool! :toast:

fala ae tio copy, mas po, soldar eh foda cara, complicated a lot... sem falar que perde a garantia! :( então quero achar essas ponteiras ae! Você consegue essas ae?!

the component is enormous, and it welds is her very easy, it relaxes....

hmmmm it's sounds me good... but for the same reason that the ciomponent is enormous i'll use the grabbers! lol! I'm very preocupated with the warranty! ;)
Man, can i use a potenciometer as trimpot?! i didn't find trimpots! i think the difference is only that potenciometre is bigger, no?!

abraço

son, you have to ask a trinpot vr 1k of 25 turns and 1w, and it will be everything certain
