I'm struggling a bit here with my next project, and as usual the struggle starts with my lack of vocabulary.

Until now I've used and abused the Bulgin anti vandal switches, and they've been a constant in every case fascia I've butchered.

However, this time I want to try a different approach.

The next case to be slaughtered is going to be a Lian-Li PC-343B, and to my particular perception of aesthetics a SS switch stands out like a sore thumb.

After a couple of weeks of research I must confront the fact that sourcing a black metallic anti vandal switch (in quantities inferior to #1000) is going to be as likely as stepping on rocking horse crap.

So I think to myself "well, there's already a couple of fit for purpose micro switches in place, why not try my luck with finding a couple of buttons of my liking?"

Well, apparently in English the spring mounted button is not called button. And is not called actuator either. At least not in this side of the Atlantic.

Would someone be so kind to tell me how such button is called? I'm finding rather difficult to search for something without knowing it's denomination.

Thanks a lot.

try "momentary switch" (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=momentary+switch)

I shall, thanks ^^

Edit: Hmmm... it didn't yield the result I expected. However, it directed me to a manufacturer who makes anti vandal switches in anodized aluminium. And RS Components is one of it's resellers/distributors ^^

Now, do you want to bet that they stock all possible colour combinations but black actuator/black housing? :P

Edit2: Well, I was wrong. They stock black/black, illuminated and non-illuminated. Can I say "wooohooooooo"? Thanks man, you've made my day ^^
