Hello, I just came back from a trip. I took my desktop with me. Everything was fine. But on the flight home today, they busted up my PC bad. Bag it was in was ripped to shreds and torn, computer just does not work now.

Problem is, it won't post. I turn it on, all the fans turn on, lights turn on, I hear hdds turn on. But nothing on screen. After about a minute and half, the computer just fully shuts off by it's self. I stripped it down to just CPU,PSU,Video card, Ram. Still nothing, and still shuts down after a minute of being on. I took out the ram and tried, no beeps at all. Still shuts down.

Now airline will not cover anything at all. But luckily everything looks to be in good shape (except case), also everything seems to be under warranty still. I kinda thought it is either PSU or MB or both. Anybody have any idea on what could be the problem so I could RMA it? Thanks :)

PS. Monitor works for sure.

Did something metal perhaps get wedged under the mobo, causing a short?

Nope, no metals. Nothing is lodged anywhere.

go thru and check every single compnent and connection, unplug and re- plug every cable reseat the ram and video card. also did you have some heavy air cooler mounted during the trip? if so it may have bent the board.

Every cable has been unplugged and replugged in. I've reseted everything but the CPU, I don't plan on doing that. Don't have paste right now. I had a scythe infinity hooked up to it, so yeah pretty heavy. But board dosn't look bent at all.

check the debug leds on your board if you have some

Do you still have the IHS on the cpu? It sounds like the cpu is a gonner to me.

in that case the mobo would make a high-pitched noise...hmmm wish I could be more helpful :(

A component from within the PSU could have became dislodged. Try taking out the screws and gently shaking it to hear if anything is moving around in there.

Don't have any debug lights. I shook the PSU and I don't hear anything. I just jumped the PSU with a paperclip, just a fan and hdd's hooked to it. And it's staying on without turning off, so maybe it's not the PSU.

Just wanted to update you guys and tell you I got it working! I finnaly broke down and took cpu out cleaned it, put more paste on and it booted. Got to desktop and then shut off. Then couldn't get to desktop, kept shutting off during windows loading. I figured out it was running at 80 degrees, I pressed my hand against the HSF to press it against cpu more. It shot form 80 down to 26. So yeah, I finnaly got it doing enough pressure. So now it's perfect.

Thanks everybody for the help :)
