I purchased a mx500 refurb last year from some website. The first one arrived doa (scam?? my friend ordered a different refurb mouse from them months later and the first one came doa as well).
The next one I got worked alright. It gamed well, but the some of the buttons would sometimes have rigidity and require more effort to click.
A month ago, the button for the right click broke, and in my attempts to fix it, I managed to break the switch. So I transplanted the mouse5 button (forward) to the right click, which gave me another month. But now, it doesn't always track properly. For normal use, it's not much of a hassle, but in gaming, it's the difference between stabbing and getting stabbed.
I'm a little tempted to go for another refurb logitech, but was wondering if there's anything else that's $25 shipped or less, and would do me well for gaming.
Other than the annoyances from the refurb mx500, it served me real well when it worked.
Any input? I see newegg has the mx518 for $38. A little steep for my tastes for a mouse.
Not looking for anything cordless. Hell, I could use a new keyboard too, if there are any good combo deals that are decent.
