View Full Version : 24" LCD Monitors, really stuck on a decision

Well, I got the gateway 24" LCD because Best Buy had them and I knew returning would be easy if I didn't like it. I kind of don't think I like it for various reasons, but the picture seems nice enough (though it seems grainy for movies, which is a problem).
What is a good all-around and reliable 24" LCD for movies, games, and day to day (web, CAD, etc.)? Something with a multitude of connections would be special, perhaps with the ability to share DVD connections, X-box connections, etc.
I have considered the 2 Ben-Q's, the W and the WZ, but the W had 1:1 firmware issues (maybe fixed now?), and the WZ anti-ghosting technology causes either flickering or a darker screen for some I think. Every LCD has issues for someone I know, so I am just looking for the best set of choices by discerning viewers on XS.

I would have to recommend the FP241W here :)
As I have said before, I really spent a lot of time researching these monitors, and the WZ model is not worth the extra money. The black-frame-insertion is a great idea but it needs to evolve more. In its current form you probably would not end up using it.
The firmware issues are fixed, mine has no scaling problems in any mode. I can run 1:1 or aspect and I tested it with my PS2 via component, and with my video card via DVI.
They even threw in an HDMI cable, something previous boxes didn't have. I bought it from newegg a few weeks ago, so all the old stock should be gone.
If you have any specific questions I will try to answer them. There are quite a few good 24" choices out now so I would scour Google for reviews and spend at least a few days (I spend much longer) really figuring out the issues with each and which one will do exactly what you want it to do.
The Dell and Samsung 24 inchers were my other choices.
