I just bought this system very cheap:
X6800
8800 GTX OC
Asus Commando
2 x 1 gigs mem
2 x 36 WD raptors
Seasonic S12 600W
For around 1398 $ which is 688 £
The CPU is only 4-5 months old, should i sell it now before the new cpu's from intel come? Would it fall in price or something when they come?

Sell it now, chill on an extra chip you have lying around and then when Penryn comes out buy a new Quad.
When is Penryn supposed to come out?
Well i guess im going to wait, no matter what i will still earn on it if i sell it.

sell now. you'd lose a lot of money if you don't. i'm not sure what you buy from gb, but some places are already selling g0 chips like e6750 for decent prices. you could get better results too and recover some money
