The top of my desk is made of glass. It is also slippery.

Naturally, optical mice don't work well on bare glass, and mousepads move around. I am getting a gaming mouse, so I need something that will

1) support a 1-2k dpi mouse
2) stay in one place on the desk.

I have considered wrapping part of the desk surface in given materials such as waxpaper or graph paper. I've also looked at prefabricated mouse surfaces. I don't know which of these is worthwhile.

What do you recommend?

I have a fUnc 1030, and I love it to bits. Best mousepad ever.

well to be honest i'd get a Logitech MX500/510 and a Steelpad 5L / QcK+

2000dpi is useless imo, but if you really need it get a smaller pad such as the razer eXactmat / Icemat etc.

I find mousepads to be too small so I use a big piece of varnished wood :) Although after the years the varnish has worn off so its starting to turn bumpy, gonna have to sand it down. :(

and I use a 2000dpi logitech G7, but to be honest I can't really notice much of a difference from it and my old opitcal mouse.
