Hexus (http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=9249&page=1) recently reviewed the new Coolermaster Cosmos case. After seeing the pictures, I want one for myself.

I've already decided to get it as soon as its available, assuming it really will be around £120, although it has some (minor) issues hopefully they will be corrected but they are not huge factors for me :]
I'm not particularly interested in the Alu version, I prefer the current weight for such a big case.
There is an active thread on the case suggestions at the CM forums

What i don't get is the window, why show 2-3 inches of the hard-drive/disk-drive bays? Nobody wants to see that, the window should be rotated 90 and placed further back so that you can only see the motherboard area where all the flashy hardware is.

I don't care for the case, I like a more classic looking case.
It seems very functional and packed with features though

It looks like a huge window, but actually it is just the side panel removed.
The case is default windowless with both side panels fitted with sound dampening material

image of the opposite side of the case minus the side panel, as you can see it looks like a giant window just like the other side

PSU on the bottom! WHY? Didn't they learn from Antec's 900? There's no easy way to hide cables that way... I'm sure people care less about airflow/thermal characteristics when going for aesthetics.
I'm still waiting for a case that isolates the PSU on top and lets you hide the wires in that isolation area, a la Lian Li V1000 only not upside down.

can you not see that slot at the bottom in the 2nd picture? you can slip unused cables behind the motherboard panel.

The window I am talking about is the one in this picture:

It is an older picture so they may have ditched the windowed version of the case. But, to be honest I was fooled by it looking like a huge full window when I first saw pictures of this case.

personally i just am not warming for the overall design of this particular case..
looks so pre-modded and plastic like.. almost looks like a (dare i say it) thermaltake case.
oh and its too small for me :D

Given Coolermasters emphasis that this case is designed to be quiet, steel is a pretty darn good choice since the extra weight and density helps kill vibration and resonance. Silentpcreview.com has said that it hasnt found a good quiet aluminum case (although I would have to dig through their site to find the actual quote). Heavy is just quieter, or atleast percieved to be quieter becuase the resonance point is at a lower frequency.

we'll see, CM will release a Cosmos Extreme a few months later apparently, all Alu build, but I won't wait for that, I don't lug my comp around to LANs or move house every 2 months, so the steel Cosmos ftw for me, ETA Aug 11th for UK, Aug 1st for Japan, can't remember USA release, but its a few weeks after UK I think.
