Hello everyone. This is my first post in this forums, and i'd like to start by saying that this is really a great place to learn stuff from, you guys are all really experienced modders. I'm a noob when it comes to these things, anyway, as the title says, i need a case for my new system.

I'll probably be going with a 8800GTX and a Swiftech WC solution coupled with the Gigabyte P35 DQ6 mobo. Problem is, initially, i wanted to fit the
3x120 radiator into the case as as this system would be built locally where I am, and will be brought overseas (flight) upon completion. The problem with getting a case where the radiator will fit internally is that the cases would probably be way oversized. pretty impossible for me to hand carry on a flight, so here's the thing. i'm wondering what casing would be good for the above setup and most importantly, wouldnt weight 15-20 kilogrammes like those LianLis. I was looking towards the Antec P180/182, but i read somewhere that the P180 weighs in at 11kgs and the 182 at 14? thats kind of weird considering that both of the cases are similar in construction (almost). do correct me if i'm wrong though. anyway, just out of pure interest, is there any chance of me getting a decently sized case that would be able to fit that radiator internally and wouldnt get me held up at airport control? I'd like to handcarry the system over and not get it thrown into cargo, i have to make very careful arrangements. quite a dilemma i'm in :) mount the radiator externally and risk getting it damaged. hmm... i'm open to all suggestions. THanks everyone!~ b:D

Hi dingmel!

It sounds like this case would be the perfect choice for you. If you can afford it, this is one beautiful case!

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=334&products_id=20579

The Silverstone Technology TJ07 Black Aluminum Super Tower with Window.

It's one beautiful case and has lots of room in the bottom for mounting a triple rad. See : http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=149265

Oh and BTW: Welcome to XS forum :D

EDIT: Found another thread : http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=146870

I actually took that case into consideration, thanks a lot for the suggestion, but my #1 criteria is the weight and if i'm not mistaken, the TJ07 weighs quite a lot. and i doubt that with its height, it'll qualify for cabin baggage, but anyway, Thanks for the suggestions! anyone elsE?

EDIT : I just checked that case out and honestly, it looks really really nice, the weight is 13 KGs too, which is good for a case its size ^_^ I might consider that case, Thanks!, but ultimately, it still won't fit in the cabin due to its dimensions i'd think, heck it won't even fit into my suitcase LoL~. what about the Antecs? anyone have any idea how much they weigh in at overall? the 180s and 182s. Thanks!

If you can't find a case that fits your specs I would suggest double boxing the computer and just putting it in as cargo. Take the box that the case came in, with usually reasonably good packaging, fill the open spaces with peanuts. Then take a larger box fill it a little with peanuts, put the case in and fill the rest.

Wow, thanks for the advice. I might just do that, though the local airline company is really rough with baggage. my friend's casing got warped, it came out rhomboid rather than rectangle after the same flight LoL... anyway, with my current setup of a Q6600 and a 8800GTX, would a 2x120 rad suffice instead? 2x120s are mountable within those antecs apparently. what would the temps be like I wonder... And yeah, bump on the Antec weights - anyone? Antec's site quotes em at 31/36 lbs 14.1/16.3 K which is absurd for a case smaller than those TJ07S. can anyone confirm those figures?

3x120 would be better than 2x120 for a quad and a 8800. can't really think of a safe way of transporting a computer overseas. plus, don't forget, hardware weighs in too.

Don't forget, in this day and age make sure the airport security people don't think your computer is a bomb or something :P Circuit boards and wires and everything would probably make them really nervous.

Yeah get the TJ07. Also, i doubt that a 120.2 would be enough for a Q6600 and a 8800GTX. Especially if overclocked. It's only 12.9 kg after all.

If you can, get some insurance on the case as well for the shipping...Double boxing your case for safeness is a good idea. But don;t use peanuts as a reinforcement in the box LOL Use small pieces of foam.

As for the Antec P182 weight, i think it's around 15 kg ...
