AMD's Phenom FX Lineup revealed

According to AMD's most recent roadmap, 2 Phenom FX series will see the light of day: Phenom FX-80 and Phenom FX-90. The FX-80 will be designed as single-core CPU's while the FX-90 will be designed as 4x4 dual CPU's.

The plan is to launch the Phenom FX-90 CPU's by Q1 2008 and the FX-80's a little earlier during the November-December interval.

Too bad no info about final clocks. btw FX-80 is going to run in single processor systems, itīs not a single-core. Little mistake, source has it right.

Reviews have shown that Intel's V8 is not for gamers but will the FX-90 line in 4x4 be gamer-friendly? I'd love to get 8 cores on 1 mobo but I just can't do it if they don't perform well in games.

Maybe an option to turn off one of the chips before booting up a game?

No need for more than 4 cores since no game even utilizes it now. Turn it back on to 8 cores for folding projects and general multitasking.
