Not bad, but I don't think I'll need it. Maybe it will fit with the bling niche.
As for the card, it's nice that it has better RAM, but that 128bit bus is still weak.

reference design, and nothing more ?

anyway interesting

More evidence that Thermaltake and ASUS are actually the same company!

so.... whats the point? i dont get it...
its a small display that can show the gpu speed and fps and fanspeed?
why would i want an lcd that shows this info?

but it has a knob, people like knobs

Oh. So it lets you control clockspeed with the knob?

thats just great, some kid comes around spins the knob and locks up your pc :p:

Im sure there is limits that you can set, otherwise that would be a warranty nightmare

I really don;t think that this sould be considered 'overclocking'. Overclocking denotes running hardware outside of Spec for better performance, but if out side of spec is fully factory supported, warrentied(sp), and the only skill it requires is 'turning a knob'.......

It kinda reminds me of the 'turbo' buttion on my (very) old 386.

I wonder if Asus will still cover the card even tho it has been overclocked. Ive read too many post where Asus users w/ Striker and Commando boars were denied RMA because they overclocked the board....

no thanks Asus

I love knob. I love knob...

(this would be better if it came packaged with their motherboards)

they might as well just solder it to the mobo and cover it with heatpipes while they are at it.

Overclocking = running at higher than default speed.
nvidia are lame enough to sell the exact same core on two cards, with only the
ram a bit better, but at a much higher markup. However, we know that the GT
is therefore fully capable of GTS clockspeeds. And asus knows it too. So they
made a version for some extra dough for some lamers that are too lazy to open
rivatuner or atitool to oc the card themselves.
Is this overclocking? By definition, it is.
Is this lame? Yeah.

The only thing good in this IMO is that the card with 1ns ram should be easily
capable of GTS speed and performance.

All this with a 128 bit memory interface?? Ooooooo,Ahhhhhhh......

Agreed.....256mb of 0.001ns GDDR3 on 128bit is still gonna blow.

Don't Logitech keyboards offer FAN RPM, GPU TEMP and such on their LCD panels? I thought they did.

This is basically a lazy mans tool.....like has been said Rivatuner opens real quick and does the same job. A second monitor allows me to view much more info whilst INGAME than this cheap crap would. It even looks lame.

As for the 30% extra OC it'll get you.....is that calculated from stock?
I'd like to see it gain me an extra 30% on 660/1065mhz with my 8800GTS.

Now people will have the ability to turn their Graphics cards upto 11! :D

This little gimmick is bound to attract a few people.

Lmao, someone sig that. Couldn't have said it any better :)

That OC gear is some nice, but useless gimmick. You can set 2D and 3D clocks anyway via software, so you just OC the card in 3D if you want to. Furthermore you can't control memspeed with that gear, so its not of much use if you ask me.

I'd prefer if they put it directly onto their mobo and have have it be a native voltmod.

saaya
07-07-2007, 12:23 AM
well this display wont control anything directly anyways, it will only work as another interface to an app running in the background on windows.

so the only advantage i can see is you can change the clocks of your card while you are gaming without using alt tab to leave your game for a second. but... i dont really see that as an advantage ^^

it looks nice though! :D
