with high performance micron D9 RAM going for as low as $70 after MIR, we @ XS don't' do budget RAM. maybe during the RAM price hikes, but not here and today.

REALLY?!?!?

Ge, thanks for the news flash :stick:

FYI, not all D9 OCs well. I have 10 x 1GB sticks of Genuine Micron D9HNL that top out at 415MHz.

those are 128mbit ICs if I'm not mistaken

I was refering to the traditional, OCing kings.

Did you ACTUALLY READ the review?

There ARE D9GMH ICs on some of those chips (Firestix).

Oh, and those D9HNLs that you don't like were the highest OCing chips ;) (Super Talent T8UX2GC5). Which must be a better batch that the ones I have.

What difference does that "high performance micron D9" RAM make for you since, according to your sig, you only run it at DDR2-800 speeds?

I noted on this review that the 2 versions of G.Skill DDR2-800 run stable over 450MHz or DDR2-900 speed using only 1.8v and they are cheap. Now that is noteworthy. ;)

Being xtreme doesn't mean you have to pi** your money away. :lol2:

AS they always say, a fool and his money are soon parted, and in this case, Cracker, you've met the fool above. Not only did he not really read the review (if he had, or had been paying any attention over the last few months, he'd have known Buffalo Firestix are Micron D9GMH IC'd chips), he has that snob factor with the "traditional OC'ing Kings"......and then linked to a set of DDR2-800 Ballistix which are not much better OC'ers than the Buffalo Firestix.

And I guess he forgot to mention that his OC King RAM is actually cheaper than the Firestix......$69 AR for the Ballistix vs. $99 for the Buffalo.

So, it seems that he DOES do budget RAM after all, and is something of a hypocrite.

You took his post the wrong way.

Hes saying that nowadays there is no budget ram since even the lower priced ram is top quality.

Why would you buy NQS for $93 when you can have HZ for $120???
